Raising Voice against Human Rights Violations
Mubashir Bhutta advocate the social and human rights activist pointed out the human rights violations in Pakistan and during the workshop addressing to the lawyers he said that, Unfortunately, Pakistan has faced numerous human rights violations in recent years, including:
Violence against women: Pakistan has one of the highest rates of violence against women in the world. Women face a range of abuses, including domestic violence, rape, honor killings, acid attacks, and forced marriages.
Religious minorities: Members of religious minorities, such as Christians, Hindus,Muslims, face discrimination, persecution, and violence. They are often targeted for blasphemy accusations, which can result in imprisonment or even death.
Freedom of expression: The Pakistani government has a history of restricting freedom of expression, including censorship of the media, harassment and intimidation of journalists, and arrests of social media activists.
Forced disappearances: There have been reports of individuals being forcibly disappeared by security forces, with their whereabouts and well-being unknown.
Extrajudicial killings: There have been reports of extrajudicial killings by security forces, particularly in the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
Child labor: Pakistan has one of the highest rates of child labor in the world, with an estimated 12.5 million children engaged in labor, many of them in hazardous and exploitative conditions.
Blasphemy laws: Pakistan’s blasphemy laws are often used to target religious minorities and are frequently abused to settle personal or political disputes.
These are just a few examples of the human rights violations that have been reported in Pakistan. It is important for the government and society as a whole to work towards addressing these issues and protecting the rights of all citizens, regardless of their gender, religion, or ethnicity.
