Seminar on elevation of judges on merit was organized by the Mubashir Bhutta Human Rights trust and protecting civil liberties and civil rights ,Large number of judges including judge of drug court Mr.Sathi M.Ishaq and justice of Sindh high court Mr.Hassan feroz khan ,Mr.saviuddin awan advocate and shafeq advocate participated and addressed to the audience .While addressing Mubashir Bhutta advocate expressed that,The elevation of judges on merit is essential for maintaining the integrity and independence of the judiciary. Judges are responsible for upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of citizens, and their decisions can have a significant impact on society. Therefore, it is critical that judges are appointed based on their qualifications, experience, and merit, rather than political influence or other considerations.

Merit-based appointments ensure that the most qualified and capable individuals are selected for judicial positions. This can help to build public trust and confidence in the judiciary, as citizens will be reassured that judges are selected based on their ability to uphold the law and dispense justice fairly and impartially.

Moreover, merit-based appointments can help to prevent the appointment of judges who are not qualified or who lack the necessary experience. Such appointments can undermine the effectiveness and credibility of the judiciary, and can erode public trust in the rule of law.

To ensure that judges are appointed on merit, it is important to establish a transparent and objective appointment process. This could include the establishment of an independent commission to review candidates and make recommendations for appointments. The commission should be composed of individuals with expertise in law and should be free from political influence.

In conclusion, the elevation of judges on merit is crucial for maintaining the independence and integrity of the judiciary, and for ensuring that citizens receive justice and protection of their rights. By appointing judges based on their qualifications and experience, rather than political considerations, we can help to ensure that the judiciary remains a cornerstone of democracy and the rule of law.
